About project
Motion is designed to streamline team productivity and enhance collaboration on various tasks and projects. It centralizes the team’s workflow processes into one intuitive digital workspace, making it easier to plan, track, and complete work efficiently.
The platform provides a set of powerful tools, including intelligent task management, automated scheduling, real-time collaboration, and advanced tracking capabilities. Users can seamlessly visualize their projects using intuitive project boards, Kanban views, calendars, and lists. It allows teams to set clear priorities, delegate tasks effectively, and manage deadlines effortlessly, ensuring that every team member stays aligned and productive.
Motion integrates smoothly with popular third-party applications such as Slack, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Teams, enabling users to maintain their existing workflow while benefiting from enhanced connectivity and coordination. Additionally, the platform offers insightful analytics and comprehensive reporting features that provide managers and stakeholders with valuable insights into team performance, resource allocation, and workflow bottlenecks.

Our engagement
A full-stack QA engineer joined the Motion project to set up a solid QA process from scratch. Working closely with the Motion team, the engineer gained a deep understanding of the product and its goals, which helped shape an effective QA strategy.
Automated end-to-end tests were developed from the ground up using Playwright and TypeScript, with Allure integrated for clear and detailed reporting. About 90% of critical functionality was covered by automated tests, boosting overall product quality and reliability.
The QA engineer also helped integrate automated testing into a CI/CD pipeline, making testing and deployments smoother and faster. This approach allowed the team to catch and fix issues early, improving both the speed and stability of development.
Services provided
Automated testing
In just a few months, we developed and maintained 75+ end-to-end automated tests for the web application using Playwright. All tests were integrated into the CI pipeline, running automatically every night and before each production release to catch issues early and support fast and confident deployments.
Manual testing & documentation
We created and continuously updated a suite of 80+ test cases, covering over 90% of the app’s core functionality. Each new feature was manually tested to ensure it worked as expected and did not impact existing functionality. Rigorous testing of new features helped prevent unexpected issues in production.
Dedicated QA ownership
The project was led by a dedicated QA engineer responsible for manual, automation, and API testing. From day one, a structured QA process was set up, with strong collaboration across the team and well-organized documentation.
