Alpha testing

What is alpha testing?

Alpha testing is an early phase of software testing conducted by the internal development or QA team before releasing the product to external users. It focuses on identifying bugs, usability issues, and other problems in a controlled environment. Alpha testing often includes functional testing to ensure that the core features and functionalities of the software work as expected. Typically performed in-house, it acts as a preliminary check to verify that the product meets basic requirements before moving on to beta testing or wider user feedback.
