Appium

What is Appium?

Appium is an open-source automation framework designed for testing mobile applications across multiple platforms, including Android and iOS. It enables the testing of native, hybrid, and mobile applications.

Test automation with Appium is primarily used for end-to-end testing, regression testing, and functional testing of mobile apps. It provides testers with the ability to write automated tests that can interact with elements on mobile devices, such as buttons, text fields, and other UI components, in the same way a real user would.

Common use cases:

  • Automated testing for mobile apps across different platforms.

  • Continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for mobile applications.

  • Testing mobile apps on real devices and emulators without modifying the app's code.
